autumn roadtrip adventures in iceland with zen thinking + happy campers // part one

i've never in my whole life been more drawn to a place as I have to iceland. i've been dreaming about going to iceland for the past few years. i knew just by seeing photos that there was something so unique and magical about it. i had to go!

oh a whim, after discovering that icelandair was now flying direct from vancouver, brian & i booked our tickets! we were over the moon with excitement. we weren't sure if we could wait three months for our adventure. it's all we talked about, iceland consumed our thoughts, even our dreams.

we didn't realize just how much iceland would blow our minds. we were constantly speechless the entire trip. the beauty & wonder was almost too much to take in. iceland is so pristine, rugged, ALIVE, untouched, magical, mysterious, moody, ever changing, it's unlike any place on earth!

we road tripped around the entire island, traveling 2576 km's in 11 days. we slept by roaring waterfalls, waking in the middle of the night to glowing volcano's & blankets of infinite bright stars above. endless beautiful waterfalls at every turn, glorious secret hot springs nestled by the ocean & countrysides, vast snow  packed glaciers, wild open ocean, black sand beaches, magnificent & friendly icelandic horses, non stop rainbows, glacier lagoons, bright green vivid lava fields, and sooooooooooo much endless beauty.

if you want to really experience & explore iceland, i would 100% recommend renting a happy camper van. they are super cozy & have everything you need. comfy fold down bed, solar panels on the roof to heat the van & keep you warm at night, sink, running water, stove, fridge & they are super fun to adventure and see all of iceland in. a HUGE thank you to happy campers for helping making our trip a reality. we will for sure travel iceland in a happy camper again!

autumn was the perfect time for us to explore iceland as there is barely anyone there & you feel like you have it all to yourself. the weather is mild, the roads are clear, the colours are changing & you can book cheaper flights!

brian & i also continued the red dress project series here & found some really beautiful spots for photos. the red dress project: iceland series will soon be on our blogs.

enjoy the photos and GO TO ICELAND! it will change your life :)
